BEETROOT SPIRIT

Rural and exoctic, this lumpy relative of the turnip is a deeply polarising vegetable indeed: we are talking about the red beetroot. Some love it, others, well... perhaps we can convert them with the help of this distillate. The young beetroots for our Rote-Beete-Geist come directly from a field owned by a fellow farmer in Bötzingen. The strong attack and the slight sweetness in the finish play wonderfully with each other and bring a new, fresh and earthy flavour into the glass.

Warum in die Ferne schweifen… wenn die „Rahne“ direkt vor unseren Füßen wächst. Für Neulinge mutet ein Schnaps aus Roter Beete vielleicht gewagt an. Für uns war der Rote-Beete-Schnaps einfach naheliegend – im wahrsten Sinne. Um das ganze Geschmackspotential der regionalen Kulturrübe einzufangen, haben wir uns gegen Rote-Beete-Brand und für einen Rote-Beete-Geist entschieden. Heißt, das Gemüse kommt erntefrisch, also noch voll im Saft zu uns auf den Hof, wird in reinstem Getreidealkohol angesetzt und dann zügig abdestilliert. So kommen nicht nur die erdigen, sondern auch die dunkelrot fruchtigen Aromen schön zum Tragen. Rote-Beete-Schnaps – unbedingt probieren!
