The “Mirabelle plum from Nancy” has mainly been cultivated in the French Lorraine since the 16th century. As a relative newcomer to the Kaiserstuhl region of Faudes feine Brände, the Mirabelle seems to feel particularly at home here. The small fruits, which are golden yellow and develop the characteristic “red cheek” when ripe, are picked in several stages. The fragrant golden plum from Baden gives this brandy its sweet, perfume-like aroma as well as a subtle stone flavour.
